This project will discuss the management of brine, a residual component formed as a result of seawater desalination. It will discuss the processes by which Brine is produced, its components, its ecological impacts, and how Brine combined with other effluents lead to multifarious effects on the environment. The degree to which marine ecosystem, including its flora and fauna, are effected by brine disposal will also be discussed in the following paragraphs. This project will also emphasize the methods by which Brine is disposed of by saltwater treatment plants, along with a detailed account of the dangers posed by each of the processes. Alternatives or remedies to reduce its dangers will also be suggested or accounted for in this project.
